Uncle John has received an offer to buy his old mine at Rose Creek. But he promises to not sell it until Mandie and her friend Joe have had a chance to see it. Exploring a deserted farmhouse near the mine, they discover a fancy new dress hanging on the wall. Returning the next day, the dress is gone! What will Mandie and Joe find during their next exploration of the mine!
Their next trip to the mine finds the entrance boarded up. Caught up in the intrigue, Joe and Mandie disobey her mother’s warnings and fall prey to great danger!
